A cat cafe is the ultimate cozy hangout where you can sip a warm beverage, unwind with friends, and snuggle with free-roaming, adoptable rescue cats. While some international locations feature permanent pet residents, our cafe serves as a home-like sanctuary for rescue cats who are looking for their forever families. This global phenomenon originally started in Taipei, Taiwan, back in 1998 before exploding across Japan and eventually making its way to North America in 2014 with historic openings in Montreal and California. In recent years, the movement has completely surged in popularity. There are now over 300 active cat cafes across the United States—all dedicated to finding forever homes for more rescue cats.
Yes! We operate by appointment-only and may close early if no slots are booked. Please always reserve online before making the drive to see us, as walk-ins cannot be guaranteed. Last-minute bookings are welcome if space permits!
Every dollar from your entrance fee goes directly back to our cats! As a nonprofit organization, these proceeds are vital to offset the high costs of animal care and facility operations. Your visit literally helps food the bowls, scoop the litter, and provide medical care for our rescue residents.
To ensure the safety of both our cats and your little ones, we strictly enforce the following age policies. Please review these guidelines before your visit:
- Under 6 Years Old: Not permitted in regular lounge sessions.
- Ages 6–9: Must be accompanied by 1 adult per child at all times.
- Ages 10–12: Must be accompanied by 1 adult per 3 children at all times.
- Ages 13–17: May enter the cat lounge without adult supervision.
Special Exception: Kids & Kitties Sessions
- When: Every Saturday at 10:15 AM
- Details: This specific session is open to all ages and is ideal for families with cat lovers under the age of 6!
- Rules: Standard kitty lounge rules apply and must be followed. Children under 13 MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times. (Note: For all other sessions on our calendar, the minimum age limit remains 6).
Youth Waivers Required All guests under the age of 18 must have a youth waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian before entering the lounge. There are no exceptions.
Private Party Exceptions We also consider exceptions to our minimum age policy for private family bookings on a case-by-case basis. Approval depends on your overall party size and the exact ages of the children. Please contact us directly to discuss booking a private session.
All of our wonderful kittens and cats come directly from our rescue partner, A Chance For Love Rescue. We are proud to focus on our local community—all of our cats are rescued in Connecticut, and we do not import animals from out of state. Before they are available for adoption, every cat receives comprehensive medical care to ensure they are healthy and ready for their new homes. This means every adoptable cat is spayed or neutered, microchipped, fecal tested for parasites, and tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and FeLV (Feline Leukemia).
Additionally, they are completely up to date on all essential vaccinations, including Rabies and FVRCP (feline distemper) shots.
Please, no! Our purpose is to find homes for our rescue cats, and we have plenty of them here. In addition, we cannot take in any cats that have not been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and tested for parasites and communicable diseases.
NO. Please do not bring stray cats to us. We are not an intake facility and we cannot accept them. Our cats come solely from our rescue partner. Please, if you find a stray or abandoned cat, contact a local shelter or veterinarian to help them receive the care they need.
Our cats’ well-being is our top priority. We have implemented this set of rules for the safety of both our cats and our visitors.

- Minimum age is 6 (except Kids & Kiddies session). Children under the age of 13 require adult supervision. Waivers required.
- We are a shoeless cafe. Please bring socks, or you will be asked to purchase our kitty socks.
- Be respectful of our cats' personal space and boundaries. Speak softly and move slowly, never chase a cat. Do not pick up our cats from standing or disturb sleeping cats. Some of our kitties prefer not to be pet, and that is okay! You never know what they've been through. Watch their body language for signals.
- Doors to/from lounge will be locked. Do not open doors without a staff member present.
We have pre-packaged cookies and a selection of cold beverages for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and (non-alcoholic) drinks to enjoy during their visit. Please do so at your own risk, some of our cats are very curious! Please do not feed the cats!
